Revitalisation of Dvořákovy sady
_ New colonnade. A lightweight construction dimensionally reflecting the typical architecture of the site.
The park has undergone many forms in its modern history, but it has always had a spa-like appearance. The organic shapes of the vegetation areas and the trees in the grid are two elements that appear throughout history and that we are working with in our design. The new pavilion and colonnade naturally complement the Orchard Colonnade. We are not creating a replica of the historic layer, but are working with elements based on contemporary needs.
New colonnade. The element connecting two characteristically different parts of the park is defined by the orientation of the Hochberger footbridge, whose axis is topped by the restaurant pavilion. The lightweight wooden structure reflects the existing Orchard Colonnade in its dimensions; they coincide in plan dimensions and also in the rhythm of the columns. In material and programmatic terms, it continues the tradition of the spa colonnades, provides protection from rain and sun and allows the full potential to be developed during the KVIFF, when it becomes the backbone of additional sponsor activities.
